Speak no Evil, Hear no Evil, See no Evil

While wandering around in Kuala Lumpur, I came across this statue out in front of one of the many office buildings, and immediately, it drew me in, and no, not just because I like that sort of thing.

I knew it meant something, but really, a VR headset on a statue, then it hit me, it was a very modern take on the proverb Speak no Evil, Hear no Evil, See no Evil, which seems to have come from the Three wise monkeys.

Now, there has to be a story behind this, so as soon as I got back to my hotel, I did some digging.

It seems this is actually called "Miza, Kika and Iwa" and was created by Nizam Abdullah and is located out the front of the Equatorial Plaza at "Jalan Sultan Ismail, Equatorial Plaza, Kuala Lumpur, MY 50250".

Interesting, as while out for lunch from the day job, in the Sydney CBD, I spotted another example of the same subject; this time it was a sign over a pub, located in an old bank building.

After a quick Google search, the specifics are: this is over the entrance for the 3 Wise Monkeys Pub on George Street in the Sydney CBD. It seems that for some events, the staff dress these monkeys. Anyhow, for more information on the PUB, check their website.

And no, as I do not drink, I have not visited this Pub, so I cannot really comment, other than referring you to the website.

While interesting, this does not look like a bronze casting, more likely fibreglass.
