Weather in Singapore

From many visits over the years, I found it's always hot and humid in Singapore, no matter the time of year. What does change is the amount of rainfall. For example, when I visited in 2023 around Easter, I had a majority of dry days with varying levels of cloud cover.

Then comes my Christmas 2023 trip during the Northeast Monsoon season. This explains the heavy rain I experienced, which ranged from the odd tropical shower to full-on downpours.

It was certainly not a mistake to visit during monsoon season. I wanted to experience Singapore during the Christmas holidays, so the weather was not a concern—I just packed a sturdy umbrella.

Regardless of rainy conditions, spending time in Singapore is always a pleasurable experience. There are plenty of indoor activities and attractions to enjoy in the rain; I even visited the new Bird Paradise Park during a rain shower.

Does tropical humidity mean you shouldn't visit if you dislike extreme heat? Not at all. Almost every indoor space in Singapore features air conditioning, including MRT public transport, buses, and taxis. It is easy to explore the top sights without spending extended periods exposed to excessive heat or rain.
